UKESAD 2010 gave us the opportunity to catch up and interview international interventionist John Southworth. With both personal and professional experiences in the field of substance abuse and mental health for more than 40 years, he continues to use this experience and knowledge to assist individuals and families through their own personal struggles.
Talking openly and honestly with his own unique style he explains to George Williams the role of intervention. He has learned that there is no cure to the disease of addiction, and it can be fatal if the appropriate education and steps to recovery are not taken. This knowledge is the driving force behind John’s motivation to educate others, especially families, on the disease of addiction.
