Video: Mephedrone - Warning over rise of legal high

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Following the death of 14-year-old girl Gabrielle Price who suffered a fatal heart attack after taking the legal high Mephedrone, Durham police have release this video warning of the dangers of taking this legal substance.

It is commonly known as drone, meow, bubble and/or love. It increases the user’s heart rate and can lead to hallucinations, delusions, fits and paranoia. It is currently being sold on the internet under the guise of a plant fertilizer and is marked ‘not safe for human consumption’, however after examining the nature of the websites that it is sold on, it is quite apparent that it is being sold as a legal high intended for human use.
