JT is from a close family who offered him all the support he needed during his teenage years. However this did not stop him becoming addicted to cocaine.
In this video JT explains that being diagnosed with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at the age of 14 was the start of his addiction to drugs. In order to control his behaviour, JT was prescribed the drug Dexotrin. He was told by a friend that if he crushed it up it would create a ‘high’ similar to that of cocaine. Within a short period of time he was using the drug on a regular basis and even selling it to fellow students in school.
JT then moved onto trying cocaine. His addiction was so controlling that he would lie, cheat and steal money from his family to support his addiction. He was arrested twice and openly admits that he had become a criminal.
Since receiving treatment for his addiction, JT has turned his life around and is trying to educate as many people about drug and alcohol addiction, and solutions that are available to people such as drug rehab and alcohol treatment. He is has been sober for seven years and has everything he could ever want in his life; a wife, a house and a dog!
