Inexcess Personal Stories: Mhairi shares with us her story of alcohol addiction, and how, after many years of what she believed was casual drinking, she identified herself as an alcoholic and had the courage to seek help through Alcoholics Anonymous. Through the 12 step programme Mhairi found recovery and a way back into her community, from a job at a super market to working as a Social Inclusion Manager for Jobcentre Plus, where her recovery and experience of addiction is seen as a positive.
