Video: Addicts speak out

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

This piece highlights the control and influence Heroin can have over a persons life; from the moment they wake up, until they go back to sleep. Typically a day is driven by the drug, which entails earning money (by various means) in order to afford a heroin ‘fix’.

Many of the people in the video discuss their journey into addiction, which stems from recreational use and growth into a frequent habit and addiction. Over time, and as tolerance grows, many users strive to achieve a more intense hit and switch from snorting heroin in its powder form and begin injecting intravenously.

Many people battling addiction will be able to relate to the individuals featured in this video and recognise the control an addiction can have over the actions of a person.
