Trisha Goddard Fighting Cancer and Depression

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008 Trisha Goddard Fighting Cancer and Depression

Fighting on two levels, Trisha Goddard reveals to the Daily Mail how coping with depression has been far worse than her recent cancer battle.

She says: ‘Cancer’s not the worst thing I’ve faced, that was depression. With depression, no one brings you flowers, and the doctors can’t operate and tell you you’re free of the disease within weeks.Trisha reveals, “Initially my depression wasn’t recognised and I was given no treatment. That was to cause me tremendous problems later.”

Nearly 10 years later, Trisha suffered a severe breakdown.

“My depression hasn’t gone away, but I’ve learned to live with it,” she says. “I’m no longer a victim of the illness, instead I’m a survivor.
