Hop onboard for a while

Posted by George Williams on Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Many years ago when I first walked into AA I was an alcoholic (never liked the label) and everyone only really spoke about drinking and alcohol issues. I realised even back then that I had bigger issues than I first thought and so did many of them, although they didn’t really talk about it. On my journey, which has always been an adventure, I met other people with other issues, many that I hadn’t tried or experienced but had very similar feelings and outcomes. As I travelled and explored further, I came to realise there where many people with as many problems as me, maybe at different levels and often at different times but always similar. Our languages may have been different but our words were the same and our feelings were global.

Inexcess is my way for people to hop onboard for a while, to connect and understand more about our problems and issues and ourselves, most of all that we are not alone.

I will feel succesful if people join me for a while and then hop off and start their own journey. If you can take the first step then you can become an explorer.
